Daryl Elliott Green was one of hundreds of police who marched in memory of the 140 Queensland Police Officers killed in the line of duty. Men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice on the thin blue were honoured in poignant ceremonies across the State. Daryl understands more than most the sacrifices police officers make in serving their community, being ambushed and shot in face and shoulder on 1 May 2000. He underwent two facial reconstructions and battled Post Traumatic Stress for years. However, he considers himself lucky, having survived the shooting, he was able to continue his police career and is still serving the community of Queensland as a member of the thin blue line. Watch as Daryl and police officers across the State commemorate the loss of their fallen comrades.
