‘They fought for our country and protected our communities, now a group of military and emergency services personnel are on the frontline of a new battle to raise awareness about Post Traumatic Stress’ announces this Network Ten News presenter.
This news segment covers the launch of the Stand Tall for PTS Lightning Bolt Convoy, which travelled 2000 kilometres from Brisbane to Melbourne to raise awareness about the condition, to de-stigmatise the illness and to improve funding to research effective treatment.
The convoy, organised by Stand Tall for PTS founder Tony Dell, saw Daryl Elliott Green participate in the journey and support its message. Along the way Daryl gave numerous media interviews and spoke to 350 New South Wales Police Recruits at the Goulburn Academy and to staff at Australian Federal Police Headquarters in Canberra. He talked about the horrific incident, which caused him PTS, about battling the condition, managing the illness, and living with it.
The convoy was an outstanding success, spreading awareness for the campaign.
