One of the largest manhunts in Queensland history by heavily armed police officers, took place for three weeks in May 2000, after Nigel Parodi, shot three of their own – Sergeant Chris Mulhall, Constable Sharnelle Cole and Constable Daryl Elliott Green. The 32 year old Parodi ambushed the officers firing a barrage of bullets, wounding each officer multiple times. The gunman then vanished.
